Genting Highlands - Malaysia's Summer Capital

If Baguio City is our own "Summer Capital," then we can consider Genting as Malaysia's version of Baguio City. Or perhaps not only Baguio but Las Vegas!

Reception of First World Hotel in Genting

If you're visiting Malaysia, then Genting Highlands should be included in your itinerary!

It's also called Resorts World Genting, a hill resort in Malaysia which is kinda similar to Las Vegas when it comes to casinos and attractions and the climate is similar to Baguio City--cold! This is because this site is nestled on a mountain peak.

If it takes 6 hours to get to Baguio City from Manila by bus, Genting Highlands only takes 1 hour by taxi or bus from Kuala Lumpur. It's also accessible by cable car called "Genting Skyway" which used to be the world's fastest and South East Asia's longest gondola lift.

Entrance to the First World Hotel

In our case, we took the taxi cab and it cost us around P600 from Kuala Lumpur to Genting. This is not advisable, because the bus will only cost you around P100. We just missed the last bus because we arrived in Kuala Lumpur past 9pm already so our only option is to take the cab.

Reception Area of First World Hotel in Genting Highlands
We checked in at First World Hotel in Genting past 10:00 in the evening. They have a fancy reception area that feels so Christmas-y.

A room in this hotel cost us P2,800.00 per night inclusive of eat-all-you-can breakfast buffet. Definitely cheaper than those hotels in Singapore that don't have free breakfast.

And since we're psyched with the place, we had a few snaps inside the First World Plaza after dinner:
